Amirparsa Ashkboos was a 21-year-old third-year microbiology student living in Tehran. A young academic with his future ahead of him, he became one of the many students who joined the national protest movement seeking change in Iran. His life was tragically cut short in the Haft-Hoz neighborhood of Tehran. During the unrest, Amirparsa was targeted by Islamic Republic security forces and shot in the neck from behind. The fatal injury occurred as security forces used direct fire against protesters in the capital. As a microbiology student and a young resident of Tehran, Amirparsa’s death remains a poignant symbol of the heavy toll paid by the youth during the protests. He is remembered by his community as a "Javidnam" (immortal name), a term used to honor those who lost their lives in the pursuit of freedom.
